I'm looking for a good Sci-Fi anime that isn't Mecha or Post-Apocalyptic.

Wow that's kinda tough....... most have at least one of those two topics in them in some form....... Why do you want one without those topics anyway? I'm not really a post-apocalyptic fan, but as you can tell from my avatar I'm definitely a mecha fan lol. Well I did think of one I watched a long time ago that kinda fits the criteria: Outlaw Star. It's been a long time since I watched it, but I loved it years ago.

well, those are the 2 biggest sci-fi themes... you could try Trigun, Kiddy Grade, Solty Rei, Ghost in the Shell, Baldr Force, Galaxy Express 999, Armitage the Third, or Key: The Metal Idol. Macross Plus is a mecha show, but it focuses far more on character (and singing) than on the transforming fighter planes. And Dominion Tank Police is a good sci-fi comedy that kinda edges on post apoclyptic

Def a good pick is Outlaw Star, it has a lot of sci-fi themes for a 90's anime (most 80's anime was the sci-fi stuff) and is a really good anime I'm surprised more people don't have avas for it and stuff. Also Trigun and Angel Cop, try those out, maybe Chobits and Banner of the Stars too.

try uresai yatsura, it's like sci-fi but it focuses on romance and comedy and it doesnt have anything to with mecha but a little bit on the edge with post-apocaliptic though(barely though) chobits good too and so is dearS.

Cowboy Bebop, Outlaw Star , or Ghost in the Shell(tho I see that the former two were already recommended...) Personally tho--if you haven't seen it; you can't go wrong with FLCL (tho its kind of in its own category...) MEW!
