lol well I love music that dwells in emotion if I can feel your anger, happiness, pain, etc then i'm hooked. It's like Opera or songs sung in Latin. You dont understand but you get pulled into it through the emotion emited. And i'm learning Japanese so I understand alil. LOL
'cause Japanese musics r awesomely awesome!! I'm Japanese too so I understand wat they're singing, yeah!:D my friend luvs J-pop but she can't understand a word, but she says that da musics r really pretty:)
Music is a universal language; even if you don't know the lyrics it speaks to you emotionally. I think for a lot of people here there's a unique connection they make since they can feel the emotion and enjoy the beats/sounds but they aren't distracted by lyrics; and even if they don't understand it, allowing them to focus more on the music, and may even make self-interpretations to the lyrics which help them understand themselves better. You can't do that with any other music. AND finally lolz we all love anime and Asian dramas so there's a familiarity factor there.
OH and I understand half the lyrics, so when I do understand a phrase or lyric for the first time (out of seeming otherwise cryptic poetry) its indescribable joy lol
ShishioKagezuchi said it all ^_^ very good choice of words there. its just what i was going to say: music is universal. yeah i dont understand most of it.........but it just has something to it..........the sounds just draw you in.....and its like ur also used to the language since we watch anime ^_^ i also sometimes look u the translations to the songs too lol. it doesnt really make a difference whether i completely understand the lyrics or not, as long as the song is good! haha and yeah for me, it seems that its easy to tell what the songs about with japanese music. for other cultures, besides american, i cant really self-interpret what the song is trying to "say".........i just like it! :D
Why japanese music?

japanese music is different from music from other cultures. Japanese musc has a different theme which I find intriging
i also like it because of the emotions emitted plus i like the sound of most of the music. so upbeat that i just can't help but listen
I'll have to say for me it makes it a tad bit more interesting even if you have no clue what anyone's saying.
