I suggest: Ergo Proxy, Trigun, FLCL, Mars Daybreak, Darker than Black, Black Blood Brothers, Trinity Blood, Air Gear, Black Cat. If you don't want action and are looking for echi, I suggest: Green Green, Ai Yori Aoshi and Ah! My Goddess. One of my current favorites is Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, it is like a mix of DeathNote and gundam. I think if your friend enjoys something funny and romantic, my favorite is Lovely Complex. One of the best I've seen ever.

I think the best anime for this this friend of yours is Toshokan Sensou, Its short (12ep), but still tells a wonderful story of young woman in military, and its really funny too... I hope this anime makes your friend turn into anime :) The opening and ending songs are great too...

well it really depends on your friends taste,i think the best anime to get started with is death note,an all around good anime,and a few generic animes like,;naruto bleach fullmetal alchemist,or if he/she is a little younger pokemon,so start generic and go from their is what i say.

If she likes magic I would say: Mai-Hime, Mai-otome, Gakuen alice, Shakugan no shana,Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha Season I, II and III and Kamikaze kaitou jeanne. I mostly watch magic and stuff,, so these are only a few magic-animes

Well kurtzy88, there is Heroic Age, Pumpkin Scissors(one of my new favs), Kiba, Black Lagoon, Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagan, Gatekeepers, Hellsing, and Hitman Reborn. Again, if you need ANY suggestions, let me know, I am always finding new anime, wheter it's good or not is another question.
