Yali Friedman, author of Building Biotechnology, and Jeremy Abbate discuss the report at the Biotechnology Industry Organizationâs annual convention, providing a look at areas where innovation thrives and where it does not. They also discuss the impact of the global economic crisis on innovation. Friedman is also managing editor of the Journal of Commercial Biotechnology and lead editorial consultant for Scientific American Worldview. Jeremy Abbate is the director of Global Media Solutions for Scientific American.
