- Description
- Prior to becoming the most popular Canadian female rock singer in the 1980s, Luba sang with a Ukrainian group. They did traditional songs in a 1970s pop-rock style. The name of that group was Zoria, meaning star, featuring Lubomyra. Her name is Lubomyra Kowalchuk, and they were from the Montreal area. These are nine songs from their 1970s Ukrainian album titled Zoria. 1) Sinu, kochky Letyat - Son, the ducks are flying overhead 2) Divlusha Ya Na Nebo - I look at the sky 3) Ya Ivana Kupala - about John 4) Hutsulko Ksenyu - about Ksenia 5) U Karpatakh Osin Khodit - Autumn In the Carpathian Mountains. Intro with long mountain horns. 6) Oy Ti Nichenka - Night 7) Zhito Maty - about rye.
