Hey, I think you must have gotten a little confused with what Ryuk said, because writing in the Death Note doesn't shorten your life at all. The only thing relating to the Death Note that shortens your life is when you make the Eye Deal with a Shinigami. (I wasn't able to reply to your comment because my computer is messed up ^_^)

hey, i like the way that you think, (read your comment on the death note life spans) although i agreed with you, after a bit of reasearch it does turn out that we are both wrong, im quite sure that Ryuk doesn't specifically say that using the death note shortens your life span.
