I'm a fan of foreign cinema, especially films from Asia. After watching a lot of modern asian cinema (not old low quality stuff), I realize that a few american movies are actually remakes of asian cinima. A few recent examples of asian movies that have been adapted to U.S. theaters is Ju On:The Grudge(The Grudge), Il Mare(The Lake House), Pulse, Ringu(The Ring), Dark Water, and some others. The remakes are okay but I suggest watching the originals first, you'll get a different perspective. Most really good films made in Asia will probably never be seen by the U.S. mainstream, and that is a real shame because these films can very inspiring,funny, and sad. They can give americans a even greater understanding of east asian culture. They can also be very extreme, bordering on insanity, yet are very good because there is almost always a deep confucian philosophical meaning at the end.

Some other interests are...books, hiking, writing, long distance running, eating ethnic foods, weight lifting, boating/fishing, wine drinking,combat sports, and watching sports such as football, soccer, basketball, baseball, hockey, and mix martial arts.

I don't really watch TV that much, except for public television (PBS) or unless it's a really good show. Some good ones are shows like Lost, Heroes, and Surface(canceled).
