I used to see an f-ed up animation show called Liquid TV on MTV in 1991, which wasn't anime, but afterwards they'd show Speed Racer (great anime) which I loved back then. But I was like 7 and Mom banned me from MTV eventually lol. However I didn't know exactly what animes were or start specifically watching Japanese anime until I started to see them on the Sci-Fi channel back in around 1994. I also used to love the songs (like in Venus Wars/Project A-ko) and since there were no computers or J-pop CDs (in America) I used to tape the anime and play the songs over and over, often the credits, and this was on a VCR lol I still have those tapes. VHS ftw!
well i have probably been watching anime properly for about a year and a bit now but the first time i ever saw an anime would be about 8 maybe 7 years ago when i was around 8 or 7. i started listening to basically nothing but j-pop and j-rock about half a year ago now to almost a year
Hmm. I have been watching anime for over nine years already.
The first anime I watched was Sailor Moon, and Gundam Wing. Whatver they showed on Toonami I watched. -Laughs.-
But with Japanese music...It's been over a year maybe. I should have discovered it a little earlier but I was interested in country music and hip-hop which I should be shot for but...Lol. I found Japanese music, and it's all I listen to anymore except for Techno.
Well the first anime I was able to remmember would be Prince Planet around 1972 or so followed by star blazers So its been about 30 years I've been watching anime
i think i was probably like 8 or 7 when i saw my first anime show. thats when i moved to america permanently. i really dont listen to the music except for the theme songs for my fav anime shows
if you don't count the mainstream shows from the 80s like Astroboy or Robotech, about 20 years. That's when the local video stores first started putting in Anime sections with maybe 10 videos for selection. Ghost in the Shell, Gaiarth, Galaxy Express 999.. when I liked the music I hooked the stereo up to the vcr and recorded it to cassette
I have been watching on Tv for about nine years, and I have been watching them on the internet for about 2 years, and I have been listening to j-rock and j-pop for about 3 years now. And Shishio I did the same thing lol, I would tape the credits on my VCR to lol
Well i used 2 watch Sailor moon on VT4 in dutch. I didn't liked it very much so i stopped with watching it but sometimes saw rurouni kenshin i liked it vey much but it was 2 early in the morning. Then when i was 12 i met my boyfriend (i started really young a relationship) he told me he loved 2 see rurouni kenshin. After the first episode i remembered it was the same as i saw when i was little so then i began to look on the interner for pictures and i saw sailor moon i knew i saw them once before and i started to look the whole anime in japanese with englisch subs. I liked it so much i buyed all the dvds and started to look also other anime. On this moment i've seen 53 anime and i'm watching 5 others :p that's my lifestory
I've actually been watching anime since I was born thanks to my dad going to japan and bringing some back on tape. Mostly dragonball stuff. I remember when I was 3 and moved to japan I always watched sailor moon and Akazukin chacha.....and Drangon ball (anything) every week. No subs or anything, I only knew their names and little words that are used all the time
