English Dubbed anime music
Hi all my lovely members. I'm so sad to say that we haven't had a discussion about anything music related in a very long time. With that said, I'm pretty sure some of you guys have heard a dubbed(official or unofficial) verisons of an anime song. Personally i'm not a big fan but i want to know do you guys think people should dub anime songs?
Reply to this TopicEWWW BOA SANG THIS SONGGGGG.... Dayum but anyways english is the #2 most spoken language in japan. Is a must in Japan / Korea to learn the language. English mixing in with the opening songs and endings are still hot now. Also all english songs are too. I mean go look at younha shes singing in 3 languages without an accent at the age 13? Playing piano like a pro, and rocking it. The song was by boa in japan I think. Last one was i talking about, but ey tho dubs i mean do you expect to put subs? They won't do that. You know kids watch theses shows. And also don't you want to listen to the lyrics. I mean subs koo and all, but I would want to just chillax sleep while listening to a song that I understand. Beats are cool, but it just ends there.
I think they should dub songs if they do a good job of it, but most seem to do bad or rather mediocre jobs. Doesn't affect me though because I never watch dubs for anime or films. Like Pete said though, a lot of kids watch anime so they probably enjoy them.
think about it- all the good dubs actually kept the op song- the only one that didnt that i can think of is m.a.r.
Sorry but i had deleted the reply with the dubbed song links because some of them werent. I reposted them with links that do work so once again if you never heard any anime song dubs here are some( try not to laugh at some of them :P ). (anime-El Hazard) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qAIOBuwdUXI (anime-YuYu Hakusho) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sP4D75GylzY (anime-Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ArVRWmrTa1w (anime suzuka) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8zE-KtWLRdY (anime- Lain) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=79MN_w0VMPE (anime- naruto) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rTIRKh1pGao
i think the naruto blue bird dub made me throw up in my mouth a little bit- its a good voice and it sounds good, but the translation just doesnt work. IT REALLY DOESNT WORK. and ive already saw the haruhi dub song, it isnt bad, but i do wish they would of put a little better lip sync on there
and 1 more thing about suzumiya's song- the japanese lip sync wasnt even that good- made me really mad
they did not need to dub God knows. This is exactly why i do not like dubbed anime music because it comes off fake and who in the hell was that murdering blue bird!!! the yu yu hakusho dub opening was okay though but i pefer the orginal song over the dub.
I would think that Japan is only good at making up anime songs to be honest. You look at the artists alot koreans go to japan to make money in singing. Did you guys see the Chinese music festival? Also look at who she wanted to sing in her concert. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ID_FtdNkIH8&feature=related
