Message me if you find any new MADs. For AMVs I can only add vids with the the artist's permission now, so message me with links to your AMVs so I can add them.
Making movies is hard. This explanation of why movie maker freezes might be kind of complicated, but if you follow the steps I guarantee movie maker wont freeze as much or not at all! Mainly, you need to turn off the filters in Movie Maker and cut down the files. If you have filters on or too many files in the movie maker, it tends to freeze. So, you need to turn the filters off, cut files down, and save a lot of your little files you edited in your movie into one big piece every once in a while. I'll explain why here:
WHY MOVIE MAKER FREEZES:
If your file is freezing in movie maker, its because the files and movie maker is a strain on the com. Its trying to play too many files at once, and different files types from WMV or WMM don't run smoothly in Movie Maker. Also, movie maker uses 'filters'; if too many of these filters are on or filtering too many files it makes the com slow down and freeze. You can turn the filters off for less freezing; but unfortunately some file types like MP3 need filters to be used in movie maker and if you turn off the filters you can't use them. However, to circumvent this problem you can convert any file into a Windows file first so it runs easier. Movie maker doesn't need filters for WMM or WMV files, which it makes files automatically into after saving a file. Therefore, make all your non-Windows files into Windows files first so you don't need to use filters, and it will run dramatically smoother in the end.
Also, if there's too many little files in your movie, you need to save them into one file and start with that again. Sometimes, drawing from too many big files freezes it too, so save what you have so far and start again with what movie you have so far.
#1 Convert all the files you want to use into an easier format. Take the files like MP3s, AVIs, anything thats not a WMM or WMV file type, then go to "options" and turn on all the filters. Try to separately save files that are just audio from ones that are just video. Also, try to cut video down to just the parts you want to use in the end. This is to save time and memory for convenience. Save the files. They will be WMM and WMV files now, and run easier and smoothly in the movie maker now.
#2 Turn off the filters! Now you have file types that run smoothly and your WMM won't need the filters on. So, go to options, and turn off all the filters by unchecking the boxes. This will help out a lot with preventing freezing. Remember any future files you want to use that aren't WMM or WMV need to converted into them, so turn your filters back on and save the file again, then turnn them back off once all your files are WMM or WMV .
Hmm have had the worst time with video editing. Everyone says Windows Movie Maker is so easy, but just importing files seems to be a challenge. I've d/loaded codecs and other stuff, but wow...still trouble. With summer here, I may be able to figure it out.

When it saves while playing it usually freezes, so turning auto-save off helps. Just remember to save often.
Also don't run other programs at the same time. (This should be obvious but I'm telling you anyway.)
